                                          Meet the Speakers

Wajiha Ahmed

Wajiha Ahmed is an experienced International Lawyer and Civil Litigator and has been practising with Buttar, Caldwell & Co. since 2001. Wajiha specialises in dispute resolution in all civil areas including personal injury, family law, estate disputes, immigration and commercial matters. Wajiha is an accredited NMAS mediator along with also being a FDRP. She is presently on the EI and LI panels for Legal Aid NSW and she is also on the FLSS panel for the Law Society of NSW.

Social justice is an important part of policy for Wajiha. She currently sits on the Human Rights Committee at the Law Society of NSW and is Co-Chair of the IBA Human Rights Law Committee. Previously, Wajiha served as a Commissioner with the NSW Community Relations Commission (now Multicultural NSW) from 2006 – 2012. Wajiha has taught both undergraduate and post graduate students at various universities in Sydney.
