The International Law Section invites you to attend the seventh lecture of the ILS International Law and Practice Course 2025. Hear from Callan O'Neill, who will explore the topic of international sports law.
Callan has a wealth of experience across a range of sports law areas, including acting for athletes and sporting organisations. Callan has appeared in, and presided over numerous Sport Integrity and Disciplinary Hearings, including in Rugby Union, Rugby League, Australian Rules Football, Soccer, Weightlifting, Cricket and Tennis. Callan will bring all this experience together in his lecture, as he shares his thoughts on the global landscape of international sports law.

Meet the Speaker
Callan O'Neill was called to the Bar in 2012. His practice includes insurance law, common law, commercial law, equity, employment law, work health and safety law, integrity, inquests, inquiries and sports law.
Callan is currently the Injury Hardship Commissioner for the National Rugby League and National Women’s Rugby League, administering a discretionary, benevolent fund designed to provide financial assistance and support to Rugby League professionals who suffer serious career ending injuries. He is a member of the Rugby Australia Judiciary Committee, the Sydney Rugby Union Judiciary and the NSW AFL judiciary. He is also an Integrity Commissioner for Tennis Australia and Cricket NSW, with a focus in member protection policies relating to the protection of children.
