Sophie Lloyd

Sophie co-leads the MinterEllison public law practice. She is a public and administrative law specialist, advising in relation to all types of government decision making, from first instance decisions to merits and judicial review proceedings, as well as commissions of inquiry, legislative reform and statutory interpretation. She regularly appears as a solicitor advocate for government clients in proceedings before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and Federal Court of Australia.
She is dual qualified, having been admitted to the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2018 and practising public law in London for several years in government and private practice roles.
Sophie has acted for the Minister in migration litigation for over a decade, including appearing as solicitor advocate in merits and judicial review proceedings, instructing counsel before the Full Federal Court and High Court and managing cohorts of matters.
