Lisa Fowler
Women’s Legal Service Victoria 

Lisa Fowler is an experienced community lawyer and works extensively with victim-survivors of abuse, trauma and gender-based harm.  

As Deputy Director of the Legal Practice at Women's Legal Service Victoria, Lisa manages a large integrated practice including lawyers, social workers, financial counsellors and paralegals to support women experiencing family violence to find safety and gain independence for themselves and their children. Lisa and the migration team advise and assist women on temporary visas or with a precarious migration status to understand their rights and options to stay or leave Australia and ensure their visa status in Australia is fairly determined.   

 Lisa contributes to policy and advocacy work for Women's Legal, is deputy chair of Women’s Legal Services Australia Migration Working Group and is a member of various migration sector working groups. 

Prior to joining Women’s Legal Service, Lisa worked at Knowmore Legal Service and Refugee Legal.
