Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia
Commonwealth Law Courts Building, 305 William St, Melbourne
The Section gives thanks to the Court for hosting the 2024 Immigration Law Conference welcome drinks.
The Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2) is an intermediate court and a court of law and equity established in the year 2000 that exercises broad range of federal law jurisdiction. The Court hears the vast majority of applications for judicial review of migration decisions in the federal judicial system, and has judges sitting in this jurisdiction in all capital cities in Australia.
Despite receiving large volumes of filings of migration applications, the Court continues to be innovative in its case management practices in this area. In 2023, the Court cleared more than 100% of its filings which was a significant achievement. More information about the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2) can be found on the Court’s website, www.fcfcoa.gov.au
